Casa Longoria Madrid

Category: Madrid Buildings – admin – 12:45 pm

The building of “Casa Longoria” was designed by the Catalan architect Jose Grases Riera, and finished in 1903. The certain attraction of Casa Longoria is its style in the Spanish version of the art nouveau.

Casa Longoria can be found in the district of Chueca, by getting out of the metro station “Alonso Martinez”.

The building received its name according to Javier Gonzalez Longoria, who was a rich banker and politican. He gave the order to build such an interesting house.

Just some steps away from Casa Longoria in “Calle Mejia Lequerica”, stands another architectural sensation of Madrid. It’s a building with an eaves carried by two metres long salamanders of stone.
