Museo Arqueologico Nacional is the archaeologic national museum of Spain. The most important exhibit of the museum of the “Lady of Elche”. A sculpture made of stone from pre-Roman time which was found around the area of Elche (Alicante province).

The museum offers also many interesting collections of Visigothic crowns and jewellery made of gold.

Visigothic tribes arrived in Spain after the decline of the Roman Empire, and stayed until the Arabic conquest of Spain until 711. Evidences of the Visigoths in Spain are classified as very rare. The visit of the archaeologic national museum can be an interesting experience in this respect.
