Madrid de los Austrias / La Latina

Category: Madrid Districts – admin – 9:58 am

Madrid de los Austrias is the inofficial name of the district “La Latina”. The inofficial name comes from the reign of the Austrian Habsburg dynasty in Spain between the 16th and the beginning of the 18th century.

Madrid de los Austrias is the location of the kings palace. The alleys around “Calle Segovia” in the South Eastern part of the district spread a certain kind of charme in a very impressing way. This area is also very popular among Madrids nighthawks.

The last traces of Madrid during the Middle Ages can be found only here in Madrid de los Austrias / La Latina.
