Category: Madrid Church – admin – 12:39 pm

Colegiata de San Isidro is Madrids most monumental church in baroque style, which was completed in 1651. The holy building was the temporary cathedral of Madrid for more than 100 years (1885 – 1993).

Colegiata de San Isidro has impressive domes and capacious chapels on the sides. The church is also the burial place of Madrids city saint San Isidro.

The religious attraction can be found in the North Western part of the Lavapies district.
