Calle Mayor Madrid

Category: Streets of Madrid – admin – 7:18 am

Calle Mayor is the main road of Madrid since the Middle Ages. The important travelway is known as active residential, office and shopping street in the heart of the Spanish capital.

Some interesting palaces can be found at the end of Calle Mayor, into the direction of the district called “Madrid de los Austrias”. Those buildings were erected between the 16th and the 17th century. They accommodate city hall, administration, military district commando and an Italian culture institute.
